MEET THE WOMEN FROM EVERY BODY BEAUTIFUL!

In a world that celebrates a linear ideal of beauty, here at The Lip Bar we take pride in redefining very manufactured images. We're  about transforming your mind about beauty rather than transforming your face and this is what we will continue to promote through our Every Body Beautiful campaign and in everything we do. We've chatted with a few inspiring women talking beauty, lipstick and body positivity of course! They are warriors, artists, creatives and mavens. They are sisters, daughters, wives, mothers and self-lovers. We hope you are impacted by what they have to say as we are.

LEAH VERNON

TLB:  When Do You Feel Most Beautiful And Why?

LV: I feel most beautiful when I have on a bright lippie and bare skin. It allows that pop with the natural melanin to glow.

TLB: What Ideal Do You Hold Close When It Comes To Body Positivity?

LV: That every BODY is a good body, no matter how big or small it is or what imperfections it may have.

TLB: Which Of Our Lippies Describe You Best?

LV: Boy Trouble, of course.

ADRIA MOSES

TLB: When Do You Feel Most Beautiful And Why?

AM: I feel most beautiful whilst practicing yoga because at that moment  I feel free and I feel connected to my body and mind.

TLB: What Ideal Do You Hold Close When It Comes To Body Positivity?

AM: That whatever body you have to have, own it and take care of it to the best of your ability because at the end of the day it’s just a vessel.

TLB: Which Of Our Lippies Describe You Best?

AM: Unimpressed, I’m unimpressed by facades and more invested in who people actually are not what they what they appear to be or who they think they have to be.

MARSHAE TURNER

TLB:  When Do You Feel Most Beautiful And Why?

MT:  When I wake up in the morning and I’m saying my daily affirmations to myself. Also when I’m fresh out of a shower getting ready to hang out with my girls or preparing for date night with a young handsome prospect. The process of doing my make up while listening to my favorite jams, being silly dancing in the mirror, putting on a hot outfit, and a hint of my signature perfume is all so fun and liberating for me. Receiving genuine compliments makes me feel beautiful as well. Sometimes people see things about you inside and out, that you never noticed about yourself and that can be fulfilling. Knowledge and reassurance always makes me feel beautiful.

TLB: What Ideal Do You Hold Close When It Comes To Body Positivity?

MT: I feel like women are constantly picking at their flaws instead of embracing them. Body positivity means to me is accepting your stretch marks, body type, cellulite, scars from when you were younger, and accepting that your body WILL go through changes. It’s inevitable! All women are beautiful no matter your size, color, ethnicity, shape, or scars.

TLB: Which Of Our Lippies Describe You Best?

MT:  The lip stick color that best describes me is “Mochajito”. This is color very edgy, modest, chic, my skin tone is mocha, and the name of it perfectly describes a coffee lover like myself.

NANCY NGUYEN

TLB:  When Do You Feel Most Beautiful And Why?

NN: I feel the most beautiful when I wake up in the morning and have time to reflect on the day to come while also giving thanks for what I have. There's nothing more beautiful than gratitude!

TLB: What Ideal Do You Hold Close When It Comes To Body Positivity?

NN: That our bodies are vessels to do great things in the world. Tall, short, big, small, and everything in between, we should take care of our bodies and be thankful we have it to live!

TLB: Which Of Our Lippies Describe You Best?

NN: Ms. Independent - the color is natural but strong, and the gloss just adds extra sass to any look.

MICHEALLA CUYKENDALL

TLB: When Do You Feel Most Beautiful And Why?

MC: I feel most beautiful when I spend time with myself because it gives me time to reflect on how I really love myself and what I love about myself.

TLB: What Ideal Do You Hold Close When It Comes To Body Positivity?

MC: The ideal that I hold close when it comes to body positivity is that everyone is perfectly imperfect. There is beauty in imperfection.

TLB: Which Of Our Lippies Describe You Best?

MC: The Lippie that describes me best would be Jezebel. It’s not only my favorite color but I love a bold lip and it makes my freckles pop.

JESSICA ROBERSON

TLB: When Do You Feel Most Beautiful And Why?

JR: I feel most beautiful when I'm bare skin and relaxing at home with my family

TLB: What Ideal Do You Hold Close When It Comes To Body Positivity?

JR: Body positivity can't be taught--it comes from within. Learn to love all of you, flaws and all.

TLB: Which Of Our Lippies Describe You Best?

JR: Man Eater! In my single life, that's exactly how I was described. Now that I'm married, I have strong opinions related to femininity and every chance I get to debate with a man, I eat them alive.

  • I really enjoyed the different women’s looks, words, and how beautiful each were. The beautiful scare on the belly button of one of the ladies really made me smile and say maybe that’s from a baby! Yet, i immediately felt peace as she looked so beautiful and not trying to hide it with her hand. The special way she referred to her freckles popping and the color lipstick she preferred made me laugh! I thought each lady was unique and feeling herself in a good way, as she should. Loved it!
