Dear Summer: A Recap

It’s been a freaking amazing summer and we couldn’t end it without reflecting on our highlights. Dear Summer, you know we gone miss you but we've also got to continue leveling up!

 

What Went Down This Summer:

 #1. Our dope ass founder Mel B took several trips all over the country promoting her message to women and young girls alike that they are enough as is. She spoke on panels at AfroTech, Essence Festival and even got solidified as a speaker for Ted X Detroit this fall. Sis is truly out here in her bag and we are happily rooting her on. Not to mention she was just casually brunching with Mary J Blige and Missy Elliot. Whew, go sis. 

 

#2. We hung out at Afropunk, Essence Street Style and IMATS connecting and interacting with some amazing humans and we have no regrets at all.

 

 

 

#4. We launched two amazing campaigns that are challenging the beauty industry. In our most recent, Every Body Beautiful, Mel teamed up with our Creative Director Rosco Spears to create a story dedicated to women embracing their perceived flaws and living untouched and unedited. Suddenly, women all over instagram were talking to us about what they've learned to love about themselves and we were just eating it all up. Our first campaign of the summer Dear Beauty Industry, debuted our summer collection with lippies socialite, haute mess and Jezebel introduced and worn by Ashley Blaine of Netflix Series Dear White People. Not only did the message go totally insane on social media but we got features in both Byrdie Beauty and Elite Daily for our work. 

 

 

Bottomline: This summer for us was about connecting with women and we’ve figured out that not only do we care about how women feel about themselves, but we are damn good at actually making them feel good and this is the energy we will continue to keep and put out into the world.
